In The Best Interest Of The Child
CCS, or C2 Consulting Services, LLC™, is a consulting firm based in Asheville, NC that focuses on the legal and best interest needs of children in North Carolina, the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Tennessee.
CCS strongly believes the evidence-based conclusion that parental conflict has longterm, adverse effects on children. We also believe that most divorcing and separating parents truly desire to make decisions that are in their children’s best interests: They do not want to litigate indefinitely over the custody of their child and they do not want to spend vast time and financial resources in Family Court. CCS will assist parents with finding a path toward mutually beneficial solutions with their child or children as the focus.
Owner Brenna Martin Dicks resides in the Asheville, NC area. She has many years of experience involved with child advocacy, best interest fact finding, parental coordination, and custody evaluations for Family Court. After she completed nearly eight years of military service as a flight officer in the United States Air Force, Brenna obtained her M.S. in Clinical Counseling and her J.D., focusing on Family Court forensic matters. She holds licenses in both Clinical Mental Health Counseling (NC, VA, HI) and Law (DC), and has completed years of child-centered, forensic specialization training and continuing education. She actively offers continuing education programs for forensic practitioners at local and national conferences.
CCS works primarily on matters that involve children, including custody, paternity, abuse, guardianships, adoptions, conservatorships, and parent/child visitation planning. The vast majority of our cases include assisting both parents with their co-parenting journey, court-appointed Parent Coordination, Guardian Ad Litem services, child custodial evaluations, and providing supervisory services for parent/child visitation. In most cases, we work with divorcing and separating parents and their legal representation to provide on-going support from a “best interest of the child” perspective.
While we do not offer family legal representation services at this time, CCS works with both parents to mediate a child-centered co-parenting plan, coordinate the implementation of the plan together, and revisit or “check in” as needed to ensure the plan is amenable and sustainable for all involved.
